The Parisi:Blue Score™

The Parisi:Blue Score™ is a single, codified metric that incorporates external insights and client data.​ It measures – volume, sentiment, relevance and importance helping organisations make smarter decisions and show the value of every pound invested.​ Custom data, such as CRM sales data and ONS data, can be included in the score if an organisation wants to track additional factors.

What it measures:

  • How many people could see or hear a mention. For news, it considers the size and audience of the outlet. For speeches or statements, it looks at the setting and visibility - for example, a minister speaking at PMQs reaches more people than someone speaking in a small debate. Reach shows how widely the mention could be noticed.​

  • How a person, organisation, or topic is talked and decides if it’s positive, negative, or neutral. It doesn’t just count words - it understands the meaning and context of what’s being said. The result is a balanced score that reflects real sentiment, context, and impact rather than simple word counts.​

  • How influential or credible the source or person is. Mentions from well-known public figures, politicians, or trusted, high-impact media outlets carry more weight. Importance shows how significant or authoritative the mention is, regardless of how many people see it.​

  • How much an article, post, or speech is about a topic, not just mentioning it in passing. The more focused the content is on the subject, the higher the relevance score. This ensures that the score reflects real attention to the topic, rather than a brief or incidental reference.​
